Elvan Guler

Commercial Account Manager

Based in Turkey, Elvan is our newest Commercial Account Manager supporting airlines across Africa and Middle East regions. Like Theresa (who you met in last month’s edition), Elvan works to support our current airlines while also introducing new airlines to our services, understanding their needs and guiding them through our solutions.

We asked Elvan a few questions about working at 15below:

Why 15below and how has the journey been so far?

After my first conversation and interview, I realised how human oriented everyone is. That may be the biggest reason why, as well as the generally good feedback from the industry. It has just been six months, but it feels as if I have been here for years (in a good way)! I am surrounded by the most amazing people, and I felt so welcome since day one. The ride is ongoing, exciting, and full of new things! I am glad my path crossed with 15below.

What’s the one thing you’d recommend to all airlines to improve passenger communication?

My one thing is actually a combination of things. Passengers can buy many things, but they can’t buy more time. Proactively giving information is a vital part of the process. That saves passengers from the burden of spending time just to get from point A to B. Finally, feedback is the last part of the experience, and it should be there to show ‘we were here, we heard you and we care about you’. Having this combination would improve the communication and the airline-passenger experience completely! Eventually, all we need as human beings is a little bit of empathy and not being ignored.

What do you think are the key trends shaping the future of personalised passenger communication?

Data comes first. Data-driven approaches will help in building the profile of a passenger and thus, will change the game by using other technology such as generative AI, AR etc... What’s also important is the protection of that data. Airlines should have strict policies around that.

If you were to permanently relocate to another country, what country would you choose?

Well, I have a few but I think I’d choose Italy. It is because of the wine, the food, the art, the landscape, and the feeling of time being so slow.

Do you have a list of things you’re excited to do? If so, what’s the number one thing on your list?

Of course I do! I have categorised my list by things that can be done with some effort and the other category is kind of a harder wish list. And the top one of my whole wish list is to get a summer long vacation and sail off among the Greek islands!
